Let's hope the Chinese can pull this off over the longer term. This paper manipulation has gone on way too long.

Cheers,

Steve

I am not trying to be an Ahole here . But considering how big business, big bank, big brokerage, big money changed the rules, laws and even public opinion over the last 30 years, the chance that the Chinese market will be immune to corruption is slim to none. The same corrupt folks who paid off elected officials in the USA and other nations will pretty much go about doing the same thing with China.
The one key point that may make a difference is if they store the stuff, stockpile it and allow inspection by independent source several times a year and only allow the short # to never exceed what the independent companies varify as in stock. This might start something. If a couple of other nations did the same thing and pulled their gold out of the USA the system MIGHT and that is a very slight MIGHT change.

Many of these people and companies have so much cash and power that they believe they are immune and above the laws that govern the rest of us. In effect the only reason for having laws is to control the masses and protect the elite. And as we saw in 2008 that belief is accurate.
