Darrell, a quick note on two points.

A. yes there are many opportunities out of the S.Korean and Asian currency problems. Cash rich companies have just seen their local purchasing power doubled in some cases. You can be sure that alliances, investments, partnerships, buyouts and other forms of capital dominant deals are being made. This is a great time for banks, equipment companies and others to take advantage of lower production/market entry costs.

As with our own problems here in the late 80's, when cash rich Japan made huge capital investments in the United States, our companies must be very careful of entangling alliances that can't pan out due to problems of operating in a foreign culture, or of taking on problems that can't be solved by throwing money at it. We could easily find these investments being bought back from us at even cheaper prices.

B. A point not addressed in the media or on any thread is that Europe also does business with this area of the world. Most discussion has revolved about the fact that our companies may do from 10 - 60% of their business there... well, so do many companies around the world. The S.Korean and Asian problems are not just a US backyard problem.
