RE: Microsoft says new processors will only work with Windows 10
That's a bold statement by Microsoft. There may be some issues installing old operating systems on new processors, but it's hard to see Intel and AMD refusing to install anything but Win10.

Also another player in the game is Linux and CPU manufacturers won't abandon that market.

Been reading about Intel's 6th generation Skylake processors. While not being able to run older operating systems with Skylake may not be absolute, it appears that at a minimum, doing so will be subject to problems.

As for Linux, a new 4.3 kernel is out that is designed to support Skylake.

It's very surprising that this issue hasn't been on the thread before now.

Thanks for posting the issue...

Just found a patch to modify a Windows 7 ISO to include USB support while installing Win7 onto a computer with a Skylake processor. No way for me to test this now, but maybe I can get a Skylake processor later his year. Also, since Skylake doesn't normally give USB support during a Windows 7 installation, another work around is install Win7 from an optical disc and use a PS2 mouse and keyboard during installation.
