Peyton holds the passing records for yards and touchdowns, and is second for completions to Favre by 175. I therefore doubt records would be one reason to keep playing. Osweiler is clearly ready for prime time, so the need to break in a new QB is not a reason to keep playing. He has enough money to last a lifetime, so that's not a reason to keep playing. Peyton is still mentally as sharp as ever, but his body can't possibly be. The only reason left is he just thinks he can still do it... and likes to do it. Can't blame him for that. I also think Peyton likely envisioned a Derek Jeter type sendoff, deserves it, but unfortunately envisioned it next season. Hmm...
