That report shows how the low end is where the growth is and not the high end.
Both AMD and Cyrix are starting to build real market share in the sub $1000 PC market . Their chips are superior to Intel's socket7 offerings . The PII has too expensive a M/Board to compete in that arena IMO . The Intel inside campaign has had good results until now , but with IBM , Acer , DEC and Compaq and many others using AMD K6 that will become less of a factor since customers buy the PC name rather than CPU .
