And many of our founding fathers didn't own slaves. Some of them even founded antislavery societies, something that never existed in the Greco-Roman world. Modern minds presume the ancient Greek and Roman philosophers were modern minded secular liberals who believed in democracy, equal rights for women and minorities, etc. Not one of those things is true. The only thing they would share with modern liberals is an enthusiasm for abortion.
