Stocks are ultimately driven long term by earnings. Does not MSFT have record earnings? Short term, stocks are driven by Company News. When a fine stock like MSFT has short term bad news, is this not a good time to buy? I like to play reliable stocks in a good trading range, hence I have been in and out of MSFT at least 4 times since August, buying in low 130's and selling at upper 130's. Since it has broken through the lower end of this trading range I have backed off. Another way to play stocks is bottom fishing which I tend to keep away from but may attempt to bottom fish MSFT. I must disagree with your statement that it is very difficult to predict a move up or down in a stock as I have been in GM, CPQ, DELL etc. Each, short term, trading range plays which work very well if you will just sell at the right time. Good Luck, Jim - Dallas
