To those waiting to dive in:

I revisited the BB ratio tonight. I noticed that AMAT bottomed in August '96 just as the BB ratio hit 0.71 in Aug. and bottomed at 0.70 in Sept.

Right now the BB ratio is at 0.99 (Nov.). If the bearish scenario plays out like it did last time, the BB ratio should be quite a bit lower in 4 months or so, and the semi equipment stocks should be well south of where they are now.

Anyone care to chart out the correlation between DRAM prices, the BB ratio, and the SOX? It would be a very valuable excercise for someone with access to the relevant information. Hint, hint, Jay!
