While I was an undergraduate accounting major and did practice as a CPA for 15 years, I have more classroom hours in graduate OR & Statistics than I did undergrad hours in accounting. And more in graduate computer science. Accounting just got me into grad school free. (Well, I also had 24 hours of graduate work in Taxation but it is all useless now). I'm reasonably comfortable with statistics. Although I haven't used much of it lately, my next two projects will be in the field of (1) probability and (2) econometrics, if I don't get diverted to a project using a heuristic I worked on in the late 70s.
