Oklahoma has now severely limited the amount of waste water which can be pumped into the deep "Arbuckle Formation" so every one is waiting and watching to see if this reduces the number and size of earthquakes in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma previously experienced two earthquakes a year on average of a magnitude no one felt.

Currently Oklahoma is experiencing roughly 900 earthquakes annually. The state imposed injection limits after a 4.2 earthquake heralded quickly increasing magnitude.
