According to Chuck Todd's book, Barack Obama has kept the Democratic Party at arms length. He is the only Democratic president to keep a separate office, instead of using Democratic headquarters. The Democratic elders have been quietly upset about this for the last seven years. He disbanded the Democratic army that got him elected in 2008 that could have helped a lot in 2010 if he had kept them intact and sent them forward to help the Democratic Party. That didn't take creative thinking, that was the norm.. The left has never beat up Obama. We've treated him with kid gloves from the time he was elected. Most of the past seven years it would be a comment of disappointment and made on the down low and then the person went silent e.g. Matt Damon. He cannot blame Flint on us. Blame it on the fact that Obama never wanted a close relationship with the Democratic Party. And time after time he didn't help out the Democratic Party when he could have so easily e.g. the excessive deportation of Latinos. What was that all about? That is hurting the party deeply. Or just his not keeping his office in the normal democratic location and not interacting with the Democrats on a continuous basis looking out for their needs, our needs, as much as his needs. But that's digressing, the Flint tragedy was a simple example of our not challenging the Republicans adequately over the last seven years, one of them making it to the governorship of Pennsylvania, Passing questionable law saying he had dictatorial power over the city, putting in a mindless lackey, that switched the water system to save a couple hundred bucks, because he was too stupid to see the big picture. And all hell has broken loose because of their stupidity. In my opinion that's the story. << The Flint Water Crisis is a Direct Result of The Professional Left's Contempt for Pragmatism Spandan Chakrabarti January 22, 2016 http://www.thepeoplesview.net/main/2016/1/22/the-flint-water-crisis-is-a-direct-result-of-left-ideologues-contempt-for-pragmatism#.VqMktxcr7tc.twitter excerpt: So who brought us the Michigan child poisoning crisis? Republicans did. Leftist ideologues who beat up on the president every chance they got did. Those who choose revolution over progress did. Those who ignore the fierce urgency to do whatever is possible now in favor of the pipe dream of an ideologically pure revolution did. That is why all the candidate of these revolution-peddlers could do in response to the crisis is call for the resignation of the governor of the state (so much for changing the system, I guess), whereas another candidate sent in her campaign team to investigate and help, and used her media commanding powers to put the crisis on the front page . But. She's a pragmatist. more at the link
