I think what you say is probably true. I don't see Hillary taking on the plutocrats at all. On the other hand, we cannot afford to lose this election because the Supreme Court is on the line for not one but probably two generations.

One hope with Hillary is that Bernie has moved her to the left, and if she becomes president the women in Congress will probably keep her to the left. I don't expect Hillary to take on the establishment she is just too ingrained, but the Democrats should win the Senate, and there may be enough power in the Democratic women, and controlling the Senate, that Hillary will be forced to stay to the left.

We must win the presidency in order to replace those crazy RW people on the Supreme Court with some liberal Democrats that know-how to think rationally and are committed to following the Constitution and the law and getting rid of citizens united.

So the only way any of us can vote for Bernie is if we are absolutely sure that he can win. As some have said, he hasn't been vetted thoroughly, and this socialism trip and his refusal to soften it is going to be a problem. Also his reticence to change his position on guns. I would've also liked to see more support from his colleagues in the Congress then he managed to get. That may mean he has a personality problem we are not aware of. Although it would be normal for the Democratic establishment to go with the leading contender. Their jobs and power next time around depend on their picking the winner.

On the other hand, every single interview I have seen with Bernie he has handled brilliantly. The issues he's defining are exactly the correct ones and he conducts himself with much more honesty, dignity and intelligence and authenticity that any of the candidates .Hillary's easy lying really sticks in my craw..

But I also worry about his inflexibility e.g. socialism position and dove position. I understand that when he's talking about socialism, he's only talking about the Scandinavian type welfare state. So why doesn't he just say that. Talk about a welfare state and soften the presentation to be palatable. But don't stick to the red flag word socialism when it's being misunderstood by half the country.

I also worry, that the country is in the mood for a hawk, so if Bernie wins he has to overcome both his socialism and his dove status. It is a horrible thing to think about, but we may have to vote for Hillary as much on her hawkishness as anything else although I know that goes against the grain for most of we liberal dams. But it is better to have a dem hawk than a pub hawk. And we dems always lose when we run doves, except 08. But that has been forgotten and we are back to our normal crazy militarism.

It's a heck of a problem to figure out, but the first-order business is that we Democrats absolutely must win the presidency. The next president will name 2,3,4 new Supreme Court justices and they must be Democrats. Citizens United must go.
