Sronehenge,

I sent you a Hanukkah Greeting Card via e-mail but it was returned!
Have you change e-mail?

I hope your passing a pleasnt holiday season with your family. We have
been eating and drinking ourselves to oblivion in this end. For
some reason I can resist all temptation but pasta, good red wine,
and sweets!! Isn't life worth living?
We are leaving tomorrow for Crans-sur-Sierre for 10 days of skiing
vacation. I don't skii, but my wife, doughter and son do. I take the dog for long walks instead!
What will you be doing?

Kind regards,

Yaacov

hey Stoned & Sonny, i did not mention intel cuz it was XMAS and I had only one post for xmas and I did not want to mention ANY stock cuz
it was a day not to think about market.

BTW: intel has target of $85 for next year but I think it will go to
$96. You can save this post and take me up on in next year.

Reason : 98 earning may not be good so $85 is a reasonable price but
at then end of 98 we will start looking at forward earning of 99
which will pull Intel up in 2nd half.

I think technology is THE place to be in 98. But we all need to diversify more away from intel (amat, sunw, emc any one have any ideas for 2nd tier high tech stocks?) Leaders are obvious: wintelco.

Hi Stonehenge, I am glad that you broke the ice on Intel. I sent you a post last night but then took it off and rewrote it. I did not want to spoil the day. I was happy to see that Intel was up today. When I spoke to my nephew in Germany yesterday I did not like the news he related to me. He is in the cpt.selling business and said that Germany is going the route of the no name cpts and Amd processors are selling like hotcakes. Businesses buy whatever runs and is cheap. Not something I wanted to hear. I think Intel is suffering some there with their processors since they are over 30% higher. I will have to check this out some more over here.
It looks like if AMD declares bankruptcy they can get their paid income taxes back from the Govt. for the last 5 years, worth over 1 bill. They have announced, I think, that their earnings will not be up to snuff. Are they thinking reorganization or what? Getting that tax money back and reorganization could help them out of their current fiasco. Hm. We might have to look at AMD again.

Of course Intel will be there for us but to what extent in the near future? I never thought I would say this and can't believe I am actually saying it. Any comments anybody? CPQ did not do well today and they are going to use some K-6. With this outlined scenario CPQ should sell a lot but so far it keeps going down. The South Korean stockmarket likes that IMF money. Their stocks keep going up now and Japan is still going down. And we are going up and down, more down than up at this point. Sure hope the selling stops soon.

Sonny

Stonehenge Re INTC make us rich

Greetings, have been away, off the boards, lots of reading to catch up on; Good to see INTC holding @ 70.Those who keep the faith will be rewarded. FWIW, '98 is the rebound yr. BTW- newspaper ran ads from Circuit City "apologized" for running out of 166mg & >Pentium desktops. Retail sales seem to much greater in THIS industry than others. Dell selling hi-end laptops (233mg). All INTC inside.
Last guarantee for Intc rebound. The 30% drop from its highs has made it appealing to convert our IRA to Roth, where we have lots of INTC and Warrants. But we'll be on vacation beginning of January, prices will no doubt rise before we return, just so we have to pay more to Uncle based on conversion value.<gg>

Signing off, happy, healthy New yr. to you, your family & all Intelabees (OT-I'm getting into more AMAT, NCR--Greed & Fear, but no guts, no glory).

kind regards, Royco
