I would contact HP and see if that computer is Windows 10 compatible, mine is not and I found that out after I installed the Win10 upgrade. Now I am stick with piles of bugs, and Toshiba will not be issuing any new drivers for my notebook.

From the HP web site that model does not have an Intel audio device...it has IDT high definition audio hardware. Perhaps the wrong driver was being installed.

Did you go here and try to let HP identify the needed driver?

Try this page also...

As a last resort download the Windows 7 driver from here and try it:

Something else you can try is a free utility called "Slimdrivers" and I've used it with success to fix driver issues. It's a free driver updater.

slimwareutilities.com

It may find quite a few driver updates for you, but since you just have a sound problem, I would just install those drivers.

Also although I've used Slimdrivers a number of times, I uninstall the utility when I'm finished with it.

Another thing you should also do before you begin modifying your drivers is to create a System Restore Point for your Windows 10 computer and this is easy to do. This way you can always undo any changes you make.
