Yeah, you gotta have balls of Steel to buy this sector

However, if you focus on the real cutting edge, next
generation PROVEN technology that the industry MUST
go into to evolve, you should be safer than most.
I'd sooner buy TER then CYMR as the current need
for testers will remain a lot more urgent over the
next year or so, then under .25 micron etching stuff.
Same goes for SFAM which is focusing on the .25 and
300mm CMP market which is where the growth will continue.
Ironically, the under $1,000 workstation market growth
has given fabricators a place to dump older technology
and a breather to the industry moving to the next level
of technology. This lul may cause box makers to suffer
temporarially; but certain equipment makers should thrive.
The PC100mhz memory spec issue will become a great
deal more urgent over the coming year than most people
think. Intel can't get Merc & >300mhz CPU without it, and
many of Intel's other plans of getting into the 3D video
market, and further audio/visual enhancements that can
be enjoyed by Windows'98 simply won't fly without this
next generation of Memory bus that even Alphas could use.
These new chips will actually be tested at 133mhz to pass.
I agree TER looks good here, especially with the recent
endorsement from RMBS. I think I'll grab some TER on the
next big dipe into the $20's. Good Luck, and Thanks.
