I'm sure we could take a log and think up some experiments to do on it that would produce wood pulp. I'm sure of this cause people did it in China long ago. From this we could deduce books appeared in a forest somewhere by natural means. After all, there are a lot of trees on earth and they've been around for hundreds of millions of years, many of them grow near substances that produce natural dyes ..... thus books!
