bev, You are absolutely right! But why sit on the sidelines with cash waiting for a better market when there are plenty of opportunities on the short side. Its not un-american to short in spite of what you may think. The attractive shorts are stocks that also have some cloud of doubt over them like TALK, CREE, ZONA, DDIM, AVNT because when a turn around comes these stock will respond a little slower and give the astute investor more time to evaluate the positions.
