But they are true American heroes. Demanding the government subsidize their businesses. On their terms. If they don't like the terms, they get to unilaterally make changes with no repercussions. Even if it endangers other people's lives. If they still aren't satisfied, they can exercise their 2nd amendment rights by going into town and threatening anyone who catches their attention. If that doesn't work, they can take over public property, engage in destruction of public property, grandstand on a national stage, paid for by the public and issue threats to anyone they choose. When it eventually falls apart, they can shoot whoever they like with the reasonable expectation of return fire.

Because they are GOP heroes. And sociopaths. But the GOP is the party of sociopaths and traitors.

The Hammonds backfire was set on their own land to protect from an out of control fire on BLM land. The backfire burned 139 acres of BLM land which WOULD HAVE BURNED ANYWAY.

The BLM itself sets fires on BLM land periodically which have spread onto private land and burned much more than 139 acres. Not to mention ranch buildings on private land that were burned up in BLM set fires. I posted a link once here to a video showing that.

Why don't federal bureaucrats don't go to jail for the damage their fires start? Or for the rivers they poison?
