Looking at the chart, I'ld say the formation began about ten market days ago, beginning with that big one day drop down from the coil. If you draw a line across the highs and a line across the lows of these last ten days, you have a decending pennant slightly narrowing. Kind of a coil variation, but really a pennant. After a market selloff, this is generally bullish.
