Bruce - Thanks for your response.

About Jerome - I'm sorry but sitting in England we are getting quite a lot of pro European propoganda. I'm not personally against Europe but I like many other Brits we object to the brain washing that is going on to persuade the public to become generally pro-European.

Phrases like "Europe is ahead" of the US (or Japan or anywhere else for that matter) are the red rag to the bull for many of us quite apart from being less than the whole picture and not very relevant to business.

Sorry but we have been free traders in a big way since Margaret Thatcher. It's fine to say "this company or that company is ahead of another" if you get my drift.

I've put in a couple of posts about Korea which are basically to the effect that I think the Koreans, once they've got over the shock, will prove a lot more resiliant than we have so given them credit for.

I also believe that this mornings news of potential big moves in Japan by major US financial institutions will also prove very good news for the Japanese economy and may turn the whole downturn into a fairly good opportunity.
