New Poster - Long term reader/Longer term disk investor.

When evaluating Seagate in the past, they have always had a price run-up upon the introduction of "NEW" SCSI drives for the Server market, where pricing is NOT as competitive as IDE and Seagate has a GREAT reputation.( Compaq/HP/Dell all utilize in their servers)

It looks as if SEG will introduce the 18GB SCSI drive into the market in Q-1. This drive will not be under the extreme pricing pressure that the 9GB SCSI is currently under and I assume margins will increase.

Also, with Micropolis filing Chap 11 recently there is not a "high end" SCSI vendor who sells on price.

Any thoughts on the above would be greatly appreciated.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
