Today CompUSA has an ad for 3.5GB Maxtor at $149.99 ($179.99 with $30 rebate)which is a little over 4 cents per MB.

The first hard drive I owned was 8MB, and I had wordprocessor, database, and spreadsheet loaded on it with nearly 7MB to spare. Was certain I would never need any more storage. Wrong.

Though the price for storage is always falling, the need for more is always increasing. Quantum seems to have the management and technical expertise to make money in this difficult market. At least I hope they do.
