Todd (and others)

When you wrote the WSJ PAX feature author, I hope you included info on the THQ financial story.

Don't know if the WSJ writers are networked, but input from the likes of yourselves couldn't hurt.

Regards,

Geo.

You may very well be right about the corporate warehouses. But it is also possible that corporate rather than the individual stores issues the orders to THQI but does not stock the games centrally. The corporate MIS has sales information by store and hence by deduction inventory levels by store by sku so they can either stock and ship or alternatively order from THQI and specify the assortment to the individual stores.

The relevance of this is:

1. if THQI is not shipping to the individual stores they then must depend on the corporate mis systems of their customers for rate of sales information by sku in order for them to manage their own reorders from Nintendo.

2. If THQI is not shipping to the individual stores they are making bulk shipments to the retailers' centralized or regional warehouses. This may move sales a bit earlier since it could introduce more inventory out in the field in that there is an additional inventory point in addition to THQI and the store shelves. That is why I doubt that this is the way that it is done.

Perhaps it does make sense for the retailers to inventory the item centrally if they have their own trucks for deliveries. If they are using UPS, then I don't see the advantage of THQI shipping to a warehouse and the warehouse sending out small quantities by UPS.
