The USA does have 8,085 metric tonnes (apparently). (That I did check) The poster (Allen) applied a number (66.67) which is the re-valued POG related to 1000 Bbl oil for 1 troy ounce. So he was re-valuing gold to what he understood the "deal" would be to matche US$20/Bbl.

I should not have mentioned this particular post in retrospect, as the numbers are hard to follow, and obviously confusing and therefore misleading. I was interested in the Saudi "stock-pile" number. You are right, it is definitely not the value of gold held today!
