If AMD gets to single digits, INTC will require a reverse split.

Rod,

Re: "I think the CEO is finally doing the right thing by essentially telling investors to get out of the stock for the near term."

I have to agree that Jerry is actually "telling the truth" when he states
that profits for AMD will be "elusive" in the future ... no one on this
thread should get too upset when AMD announces losses for Q4, Q1, Q2, ...

BTW, Lehman Brothers has issued a report that says that Intel has accelerated
their .25um process manufacturing while AMD has started "slipping" theirs.

"THE GOOD NEWS: TIMING OF .25 MICRON APPEARS TO HAVE ACCELERATED
BY 3-6 MONTHS AT INTEL, SLIPPED 3 MONTHS AT AMD. Intel management indicates
the move to .25 micron will be nearly complete by year end 1998. That is
about 6 months earlier than the apparent schedule 6/3/97 at their analyst
meeting. AMD, meanwhile, had been scheduled to be 100% .25 micron by mid-
1998, but we guess that has slipped by 3 months."
