Good post--i like this paragraph where the writer tells us that the bankers are not going to roll over for mr. gates--this is what i have been saying for a while--ckfr/intu/xcit have a jump on everyone especially gates/msft inc. and, more importantly, no one will trust grandmas money with microsoft--especially the bankers.

<<<<<<<While Intuit mended fences with bankers, Microsoft incited them again in announcing MSFDC, a joint venture with First Data Corporation to present bills to consumers online--a business bankers want themselves.

I think that this says it all!!!!!

According to our 1998 Online Advertising Report total advertising (media placement) and direct marketing revenues will reach $9.0 billion by the year 2002. The report is a complete resource for online advertising: existing and emerging industry trends, revenue projections, online creative possibilities and limitations, as well as profiles of buyers and sellers are all included.

Total Online Advertising and Direct Marketing Revenues, 1996-2002
(in $ Million)

1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002
$55 $301 $940 $1,873 $2,987 $4,352 $5,784 $7,672

..that means the revenues will explode by a factor of almost 7-8x's compared to 1997!!!!!!!
