Actually, it's already been seen in the laptop Zip drives. Nomai even came out with a release saying it was unfair that Iomega had modified the laptop drives to reject Nomai disks. Perhaps this was the "feature" mentioned by KE during the q2 conference call when he announced that the laptop Zip would be delayed. I have not heard of any independent lab testing concerning the compatibility issues. BTW, if Iomega does succesfully fix their drives, does this mean that old Zip discs will be rejected? Will they include some new security feature in the drives that current discs do not already have? This whole mess would not have happened had Iomega taken care of business the first time around. <<<<

Whether they are new or old Zip disks will not matter but whether they are made by Iomega will be decisive as to whether or not they work.
