I'm thinking that Apple should be able to apply their ability to create unique codes in Apple Pay and create a key that also generates a unique code when used. Apple will reluctantly agree to unlock the iPhone in question. A unique code would be more secure than a backdoor without a unique code. Apple will find a way. Just my personal, nontechnical opinion.
