the FBI is on a fishing expedition to try to uncover something – anything – that might help explain what happened.
My guess, Art, is that the feds are more interested in using this case to establish legal precedent, that if the government asks a corporation to provide a backdoor to a device, that there is legal precedent for doing so. Why not use a case where the bad guy is an Islamic terrorist attacking on U.S. soil? Who can be against that?
