It should be pointed out that Europe has been in trouble for the past few years because they implemented the austerity measures that your favorite economic school has advocated that the US implement.

Public spending in the EU in 2007 and 2013 from the European Commission. These countries, in 2013, were averaging government expenditures of 49% of GDP.

Is this your idea of "austerity?"

CJ, Germany applied the Austerity principles the most and is consequently doing the best of all EU economies. Even your hero Krugman cannot help you here, a fact so better deal with it :)
