Ctrl+Alt+Del buttons will launch the Task Manager, then you can try to figure out what programs are running to give you a clue as to what's trying to install......

(this off the top of my head....)

EDIT - I'll be away from the web for a few hours, so can't help beyond this....

The little annoying popup is tied to a "Process" in the Task Manager called "UA.exe" Kill it and the popup will disappear.

It is also connected to an application entitled: "Verizon Wireless Software Utility for Android -- Samsung"
