Exactly right. They're expensive in a given year, but big government welfare programs not only don't end, they expand without bound and are so politically and systemically engrained they can't to anything but get more bloated.

Wars DO cost a LOT....

Especially if they never end....

Like the Afghan war and the Iraqi war...

We're STILL fighting BOTH those wars.

They've probably cost $3 TRILLION so far and they will probably cost another $2 TRILLION before we're done paying for them.

The really SICK thing is that $5 TRILLION will have all been spent on things that are or will be detrimental to the U.S.
