I assemble my own computers and have too many, but think these machines will be operational for many years.

There's three reasons for this belief.
  • Components today are more reliable and last longer.

  • Processor advancement is slowing down and Moore's Law is fading

  • Software is being written so it can be run on desktop and mobile devices with less commuting power.
