If Asia is allowed to collapse then Western economies will soon follow and what you refer to as a buying opportunity will be a depression with severe attendant deflation. In 1932, interest on the long bond was below 2% but despite this the stock market languished in its woefully undervalued state until the beginning of world war II. The Dow Jones could well emulate the Nikkei in the scenario you describe.

The problem is if Asia really sink, a lot of US companies will sink together, and probably
the company you work for will be one of them and yourself as well !!!!!
