They tried very hard to keep troops there... The Shia militias wanted ALL the Americans OUT and they pressured Maliki to get them out. How much control would YOU have been willing to give the Iraqis over OUR troops to keep them there? Would you have given the Iraqis permission to ARREST and JAIL and bring to TRIAL our troops if THEY thought they had committed a crime????? That's what they wanted and if I had been president I would have pulled our troops out too if those were the conditions. They negotiated that stuff for a long time and eventually they said we're not going to put up with this CRAP.... How would YOU have handled it?
