Speaking of Nitride Gurus Asif Khan, a well-known GaAs and GaN developer, who has spent the last 10 years with APA Optics, is going back to school to become Prof. of E&CE at the University of South Carolina, where he will be establishing a microelectronics facility, but will continue to be attached to APA Optics. Replacing Asif will be Jim Pooladdej, formerly of Ciena Corporation in Columbia, MD. Jim brings considerable insight into APA's new Wavelength Division Multiplexed (WDM) push.
