steve--

dataquest is the worst i have ever seen when it comes to predicting semiconductors, or PC sales. AND, they constantly revise their numbers which i find inexcusable.

take DRAM for instance. dataquest said the picture on 4Mb parts looked rosy into 1996, though that was far from the truth. and then there are their infamous estimates on internet based sales which have, if i remember correctly, been almost consistently wrong.

i just dont value their opinion and i am not going to suffer under the delusion that their 'research' is anything other than a fish wrapper.

as for the lines and the problems with deployments...i am not going to debate this with you. read my previous post on the issue. i have two choices, either believe the company, which knows its lines, or the researchers. i choose the company. i find it odd that the researchers would be so pro cable and believe the cablecos figures, but so critical of the telcos.

i am going to scan my ID and send it to you<G>.

good luck to all,
trey
