IMO a large part of the Trump popularity is traced directly back to the fact that conservative Republicans (Tea Partiers - etc.) worked so hard to take back Congress and the Senate, the Governors, the State legislatures and then watched all the hard work get squandered. They watched weak-kneed wimps knuckle under to everything Zero wanted, and then some. Trump is a vote that is a F you to the Republican establishment. Everyone knows he won't be controlled. That is both good and bad within the Republican party.

Truly, I think a good deal of Trump voters don't even care if he can beat Hillary/Sanders/Biden. They are more concerned with beating the GOPe.
