Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but what I read is he received a student deferment, then his draft was postponed because he received a medical deferment. Then his selection number was too low.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Either way it's not draft dodging, it's draft avoiding as I said previously. While he was in college, McCain was being tortured.

When he graduated in 1968, Trump’s classification shifted to 1-A, or "available for service."

Had that stood, Trump would have been drafted.

But Trump had a physical exam in September 1968. He had taken one less than two years earlier that did not disqualify him for service as we can tell from his 1-A classification in July 1968. However, his second physical was followed in October with a new classification, 1-Y. That designation put him near the bottom of any call-up list.

No. He wasn't a draft dodger. He wouldn't have had to with a # that high. Didn't you read the post you are responding to?

Those "facts" are not inconsistent. Trump turned 18 in 64. The first lottery was in 69 or 70. A typical 4 year undergrad deferment would have expired. In 68, before the lottery system, he would have needed something to keep him out.
