Raj, great to have perspective from some one who has been there and maybe done that. I agree w. pc vs server in Korea. Globally i think servers will bring in more revenues then pc. so stocks to buy would be those already in high end servers.

MY QUESTION WAS RE: EQUIPMENT STOCKS ( AMAT NVLS)

Even though their buisneess is in ASEA my guess is that they will be buying for e.g. 8" 12" wafer equipments since that gives them better
productivity and they will be exporting chips to U.S. Not just for their own consumptions.

So my guess is companies in equimpment making business might do better then computers PC? Any joe cheng in Korea can build a dell model but
they can not come up w. intc chips or amat equipments?

please correct my thiniking .

btw: here is some data from frobes:
Third-quarter 1997 global revenues by percent

North Amer. Japan Asia-Pacific Europe
Apple 53% 18% 6% 21%

Compaq 58% 3% 6% 28%

Dell 71% 4% 3% 22%

Gateway 2000* 87% N/A 5% 8%
