American YES MAN! Liberals attack Kevin O'Leary former Dragons’ Den star in CBC Television. cbc.ca

The federal Liberals fired their first shot at rumoured Conservative leadership hopeful and “reality TV star” Kevin O’Leary.

In a fundraising e-mail sent to supporters Saturday night, the Liberals lump the former Dragons’ Den star in with Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

“You may have noticed a few reality TV stars have recently made their political debut,” the e-mail says, below an image of a glowering O’Leary on a TV screen surrounded by a Conservative-blue border.

“Canada, it seems, has Kevin O’Leary.”

The e-mail then lists some of O’Leary’s recent comments about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his economic policies. It also goes out of its way to label O’Leary “the host of the U.S. deal-making show ‘Shark Tank.’”

“Don’t let reality TV stars import food-fight politics — or the same economic policies that failed Canada for 10 years,” the message says.

It then shows a picture of Trudeau speaking in Parliament and praises his policies, which “build a strong economy that works for the middle class over the long-term.”

At the bottom, supporters are asked to donate to the party and offered an opportunity to win a trip for two to Washington, D.C., for two Canada2020 events.

Neither the Liberal party nor O’Leary were immediately available for comment.
