I do believe that there is a small strain of Northern redneck that got lost after the war in Yank territory. Im looking in my Civil War History Encyclopedia now............................................. .................................................. ah yes, here it is. It seems that after the Yankee victory at Gettysburg, which was VERY narrowly won I might add, a certain Robert M. Driver was taken prisoner after a gallant fight on Little Round Top. He was apparently taken to a Yank prison in Delaware and stayed there till the end of the war. According to his discharge papers he was originally a very successful owner of a Livery Stable in Montgomery Alabama before joining the blessed Southern cause. When the war was over he was furloughed to an area around New York City where he was to board a train South with other dischargee's. It seems that this ever opportunisitic rebel saw dollar $igns in NYC and stayed behind to open a new Livery business in the North. Could this possibly be your GGG. Grand Pappy? Bama
