Just read your thoughts on what I said to Alan about what was going on in addition to what was being said in print that didn't quite pin it down to the pinhead point we are zeroing in here, straining perhaps at gnats as you say. After the fact, it seems I tend to agree with you in great part. I am not popular with those who love "the new thing God is doing". And that new thing started from probably the first five years after the upper room experience with the first Holy Spirit outpouring on Earth. I still think these scripture studies are almost as well covered as the human minds could cover them, and quoted exactly from the Word, so as long as it is not purely hateful and mean-spirited, it is still time well spent, as few of us would have done this all by ourselves for not reason. There is just much for both view points to ponder and end up thinking exactly as the Lord wishes. I don't know what else this whole Christian experience is about, other than eventually ending up with the mind of Jesus Christ. Which is the loveliest place anyone could spend their time, period. The mind of Jesus Christ is like a trip through the Universe for free, and a happy, wonderful place. I highly recommend we all put on the mind of Christ! But back to the rapture. When I see in print that Shalom becomes stressed and frustrated in words because he so strongly believes another view of the scriptures pertaining to this event, then I become concerned because he is put in a position to try to talk everyone out of it, and this is not pleasant, and can become stressful. And is it fair to continually bring up a differing point of view to brethren? Is this doubtful disputation? I don't know. It seems a waste of time. In the first place, we're all living on faith, period, and that is unseen to begin with. But if people who see it "The Rapture" (and I kind of hate the term because there is so much controversy over it already) and clearly want to discuss it, and without argument, I think the only problem anyone should have is if there are sentences that include doubting the Lord if we DON'T go through the ceiling and get beamed up. Then I could see others coming in to correct that error. I saw the bumper sticker "Beam me Up, Jesus" and got a Holy Ghost rush everytime I saw it. Wish I had one now. I think if it was something the Lord didn't want us thinking, I might have looked at it and felt like the poor person was badly deceived, or something. What does it matter? I will not change my mind on anything unless I think opposite of scripture. I don't, and that's a fact. ANd if I do, please fire away, anyone. But the least looked at and most exciting chapter in the Bible is Rev. 7. That's what I'd like to do. Just do that chapter verse by verse without haggling whether it couldn['t POSSIBLY mean exactly what it clearly says. I'm trying to get James to open a rapture thread.
