Funds falling at year end

Mutual funds lose a total of $9.48B during week ended December 23

December 26, 1997: 12:26 p.m. ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - All stock funds lost an aggregate of $9.48 billion in the week ended Dec. 23 after losing $1.09 billion in the week ended Dec. 17, AMG Data Services said Friday.
According to AMG Data, aggressive growth funds lost $119 million in the week after losing $111 million in the previous week, while small cap growth funds lost $668 million compared with inflows of $144 million in the prior week.
Growth and income funds lost $1.58 billion in the week after losing $521 million in the week ended Dec. 17.
International equity funds saw outflows of $1.64 billion, up from previous outflows of $307 million, AMG said.
Technology funds lost $326 million after taking in $59 million in the week ended Dec. 17, while real estate funds lost $202 million in the latest week after small inflows.
But utility funds took in $31 million for the week, after taking in $56 million in the prior week, AMG said.
Healthcare and biotech funds lost $71 million in the Dec. 23 week after seeing $75 million in outflows in the previous week, it said.

thanks..I always get confused when they talk about the market...or
just the international conglomerates...
I have just thought that the mania has been into the blue chip household names..
the sell off in high tech reminds me of before windows 95 came on
the scene..looks like another sell out until 98 is released.
small cap stops have been so beaten down it is ridiculous..active
money managers have underperformed the index funds for so very long..
the internet is exploding..satellite companies etc will explode..
drillers are still functioning at 98 percent capacity..Clinton is
still in office with Rubin..
the mania in bonds I guess will continue...until real inflation
numbers are made available..with all the liquidity in the world and
all the governments throwing money at Korea etc..don't think the
equities markets are dead..
but somebody posted this on another thread which suggests inflation
