Hi Penni:

I was a Norfolk boy, went to undergrad at UVA and stayed on for Med school, then left to go to U of FL for 5 more years of surgery. I chose U of FL, because it was the only University residency which payed so much ($233/month), and I had a wife and two kids at the time. (UVA paid $65/mo).

The Shadwell/Keswick area is lovely. There is a sort of hotel (more like a big home) -- Keswick Hall -- you can stay in if you don't mind being a little out of the way; it's quite nice. I lived in the "new dorms", now called the "old dorms" my first year, as required, then lived in the fraternity house, then in an apartment off Rugby Road, then in various $55/month apartments as a married Med student. But I reminisce and must stop!

Nice sharing VA memories with you, Penni.

Jack
