Yes, that short interest number coupled with the increasing "days to cover" number over the last year suggests not just being straight up short SDRL, but using longer-dated options (compared YoY) that are now being covered in a mad scramble... very entertaining... I don't know why, but confess to my schadenfreude bias to short interest holders... even when I am fairly comfortable shorting a stock or sector, I usually end up just selling puts vs. buying them... just not in my DNA, which helped make me a lousy frequent-trader...
