If you want to press the Chinese NOW is a good time to do it while they're struggling with their economy. That's what we thought about and did on Japan in 1941, when we blocked their oil supplies thinking that would force them on their knees. Now, of course the "good" part of that remaining, that Truman thus still had a good opportunity to try out both kind of the nukes "in situ" even though the Germans had "prematurely" capitulated and thus no longer were available for that :) /Taro
