then why did you call Sun and ask them for the source code for Solaris ?

again you keep confusing your facts - Sun has a monopoly on workstations? whats your definition of a monopoly? strange that you procolaim them a monopoly when you say their market share is currently eroding.

NT is 4 times less than a sun workstation with equal performance?
Universities typically get very favorable pricing and they pay for higher performance. NT is a low end workstation - will it ever have the performance of a Sun workstation - maybe later - but like they say later we'll all be dead.

Sun doesnt need workstations to grow and it is releaseing a $5,000 line of technical workstations in January to keep parity with Wintel. who knows - maybe the DOJ will sue Sun and give them additional publicity.
