Victoria - Re: "Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD) Dec 28 1997 will out of business by the end of Q3 1998 ." With all due respect, this statement is patently absurd. AMD is losing money due to a variety of short term problems - low yields, pricing pressure from Intel, etc. These problems won't last forever. However, they have a decent product - the K6 - a valid roadmap for new product introductions (K6 3D, K6+3D), a process development roadmap, a reasonable customer base including DEC, Compaq, and IBM (among others), a diverse product portfolio separate from CPUs - Flash memory, telecom/networking products, PLDs, etc. They have reasonable cash reserves and can ride out a few more difficult quarters. Two/three billion dollar companies don't disappear over night - especially ones that can give Intel a real scare now and then. Paul
