Buckwheat - Re: " I don't see a great departure in "business" America

You are clearly unaware of the business market.

Your assumptions are just that - assumptions.

Have you seen Compaq's TV commercials over the past two months - HEAVILY emphasizing the Pentium II?

Have you read Compaq's quarterly reports?

Have you spoken to Compaq's Investor Relations people?

Get some facts - they work better than assumptions.

Paul

Buckweat, re:I personally see "business"
America as a huge market in the next two years; however, unlike retail consumers who
buy "all" that they want, most businesses buy "only" what they need. I don't see a great
departure in "business" America (or the world for that matter) from the emerging
consumer "econo" market.

WRONG! A top issue with corporate IT is to ensure that the equipment they buy will have a lifetime of at least 2-3 years (so this doesn't interfere with business plans), and that is why most IT depts. are not and will not be interested in the low-end. Most IT planners said they will continue to spend at least the same amount for their average PC purchases, knowing that will get a lot more performance with the same amount of dollars.
